The City of Ottawa is asking for your input on a very important topic. Taxes. However, this tax is a one cent sales tax that was implemented in 2015. A half cent for economic development, a half cent for core services. On a social media post, they pose the question to citizens on if they want to see that tax renewed, and, if so, how do they want the city to use the money collected. The survey asks you to rate several categories on a scale of A to F. Everything from streets to police service to recreations to cost of living. Also, your opinion on what Ottawa’s top priorities should be in the next 5 years.

Also, questions concerning where the tax revenue should be spent if the public voted to renew it. Improved streets and sidewalks? Replacing the 60-year-old forest park pool? Maintaining and improving our parks, trails and recreation amenities? City officials want your voice to be heard. You can find the link on the City of Ottawa’s facebook page, KOFO’s facebook page. The deadline to take the survey is Wednesday, August 6th so don’t wait!
