The Wellsville Chamber of Commerce will host the Kansas Department of Transportation, who will hold an informational meeting for the public, to present information on proposed project coming to the Wellsville area. The public hearing is giving notice to all businesses and residents within the City of Wellsville regarding the K-33 improvements in Franklin County. This major project would widen and upgrade K-33 from 6th Street to the U.S. 56 junction. K-DOT says the project is in the preliminary design phase and has not yet been funded for construction.
The meeting is a public open house and will be held this afternoon from 4:00 to 7:00 at the Wellsville Library. Meeting information is also available on the K-DOT website. Comments will be received through August 21st.
