Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies were involved in a vehicle pursuit early Sunday morning, August 10th, involving a stolen vehicle. Just after 2:00 in the morning, 49-year-old Lorie Honeycutt, of Pomona reported that her Chevy Equinox had been stolen from her residence at 600 Hoover street in Pomona.
A deputy located the stolen car during the investigation and a traffic stop was attempted; however, the driver fled from the scene. The pursuit ended up in Baldwin City. In the end, 45-year-old Garland White of New Century, was arrested for theft, felony fleeing and eluding, aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer and driving in violation of license restrictions. During the pursuit, White struck a Baldwin City police department patrol vehicle. No injuries were reported in the incident.
