An incredible fundraiser for local charities was held this past weekend. The 38th Annual Bo’s Hog Wild BBQ, Brew-Fest and Kids-Fest was held on Saturday, August 30th. An incredible list of sponsors helps provide the meat, cooked by expert smokers from around the area. More sponsors help with other items. Then, there are adult beverages. Local breweries and distilleries share their products at no cost.

The kidsfest features all kinds of fun filled activities including alpacas, miniature horses, face painting and much more, plus incredible entertainment by the Instamatics and Riley and Rob Meyerkorth. Hundreds of people buy tickets for the event and all the money is given to area children’s charities and organizations. Those benefiting this year include…Spark-Wheel, COF Training Services, CASA for the Fourth District, Just Food, and Douglas County CASA.

This years event raised over $135,000. You heard that right, this year Bo’s Hog Wild event raised over $135,000 for these five charities to share. Amazing! If you bought a ticket, or a shirt, or made a donation, thank you for help supporting those organizations that directly support Douglas & Franklin County kids and families! Bo says they are already making plans for next year’s event!
