The Ottawa City Commission considered adjusting tap fees for water lines leading into housing in town. After a lengthy discussion, with Utilities Director Scott Snethen presenting a financial breakdown showing the city was actually losing over $1,000 per tap and proposed increasing the fees.
Commissioner Eric Crowley, said he wasn’t sure if increasing fees was the right idea, and gave an example of another utility:
Commissioners tabled the decision until next week so they could talk to some local contractors and get their perspective on the proposed tap fee increase.
