A new snack is being tested in European countries that brings back memories of your childhood, or maybe something you did last night for all I know. The snack is a tortilla chips called Rewind 9 Volt. If you grew up in the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s, or even now, you probably remember the metallic tang and slight buzz you got when you touched your tongue to the tip of a 9 volt battery. Yep! The company has recreated that incredible flavor. Using a blend of citric acid and sodium bicarbonate balanced out with mineral salts, they have created a flavor that leaves a tongue tingling effect– let’s say it sparks curiosity…
… why not? Rewind 9 Volt chips are only available in the Netherlands, but the company is planning expansion into the rest of the European market and eventually the rest of the world. The company puts out a disclaimer saying they do not encourage to lick, bite, or ingest real batteries. Yeah, and by the way… the coffee is hot at McDonalds… some of you will get that.
