The Ottawa City Commission met this afternoon, Wednesday September 10th. At last week’s meeting they heard from the public at the Revenue Neutral Hearing and Budget Hearing, about how increases in property taxes are hurting Ottawans, how many think the streets need more attention, and on how they think their tax dollars are not being well spent. Commissioners voted for a Revenue Neutral Budget for next year, pending the final valuation from the County. Samantha Mill says if her taxes go any higher, she will be forced to move out of Ottawa and wants the tax revenue put where it will count.

On a little milder agenda today… Ottawa Police Chief adam Weingartner will give a safety presentation for the Power of the Past Tractor Show. Also, Commissioners will consider a cereal malt beverage application for a new arcade, 80’s Flashback Arcade on West Second Street. The meeting is at 4pm this afternoon at City Hall and will be live streamed on the City of Ottawa’s Facebook Page and Youtube Channel.
