The franklin County Commission met this morning Wednesday, September 10th for their regular meeting and will meet again tonight for the Revenue Neutral Hearing and Budget Hearing. Items this morning include consideration of a special use permit to allow for the construction and operation of an RV and Boat Storage Facility at Tennessee Road on the site of the former Buck U Distillery. Also on the agenda, the proposed rezoning of two parcels of land.
At tonight’s budget hearing, commissioners will hear from the public regarding the proposal to exceed the revenue neutral rate and thoughts on the budget. County Administrator Derek Brown says the published mill rate is 46.4 mills, but they hope to move it down another half mill.

The regular meeting this morning is at 8:30am, the public hearings tonight are at 6pm. Both will be live streamed on the Franklin County Kansas Youtube Channel
