Former Kansas governor and candidate for Governor, Jeff Colyer, says he is deeply concerned about the hiring of Derron Borders at Kansas State University as the schools Civil Rights and Title 9 Administrator. Colyer says he has ties to extremist marxist groups and a history for pro-terrorism related to the Isreal-Hamas conflict. Colyer says entrusting someone with such extreme views to oversee civil rights and title 9 at KSU undermines the fairness and safety our students deserve.
He is calling for an investigation into the matter and if allegations are confirmed, the immediate removal of Borders from the position. He states that it’s clear K-State made a serious mistake in hiring this individual. It’s no secret that our state universities harbor many more far-left extremists pushing their agenda onto our kids. He says people need to demand accountability and ensure KSU upholds the values of fairness, integrity, and respect that define our state.
Borders was sharply criticized two years ago when he was the Diversity and Inclusion Director at Cornell University, for writing social media posts supporting Hamas after it attacked Israel.
