The Ottawa City Commission has cancelled their meeting this week, September 24th. At last week’s meeting, Police Chief Adam Weingartner outlined the safety planning involved in the Ol’ Mary River Run Car Show. You may have noticed the large surveillance cameras mounted on Main Street in several locations. He says it’s a system called “Agile Mesh” and is part of the North East Region of Kansas Emergency Management.
He added that it is used at other events such as graduation weekend at KU. The system can be set up and used at any large crowd event to ensure the safety of all those in attendance.
