The AdventHealth Ottawa Volunteer Program was awarded the Gold Award of Excellence once again at the Joint Kansas Hospital Association and Hospital Volunteers of Kansas Awards luncheon recently. To receive this award, nine requirements set by the Hospital Volunteers of Kansas, the state organization, must be fulfilled. Some of the requirements include: community involvement and visibility, new and updated services, awarding healthcare scholarships, promote continuity and fellowship among the volunteers, contribute articles to the volunteer newsletter and more.
The hospital volunteer program has received the gold award of excellence every year since its inception in 1988.
