Thieves were busy in Ottawa over the weekend. The Ottawa Police Department is looking for information about a group of four juveniles who roamed neighborhoods from Ash to Maple Street, opening unlocked car doors and helping themselves to things in those vehicles, including a 9 millimeter handgun and stealing a 1970 honda motorcycle. Later summer and early autumn can be a time when crime increases and you can do your part in not becoming a victim of Ottawa’s most prevalent crime, property crimes. First, lock the doors to your car. Second, don’t leave your keys in the car, and third, report any suspicious activity immediately. He added that another important tip is to lock the doors to your home, and to leave porch light on all night. An easy saying to help you remember…lock it, or lose it.
