Along with housing, another thing that Franklin County is in desperate need of is child care. One of Ottawa’s child care facilities closed recently, but Franklin County Development Council Director, Paul Bean, says he is working with an investor that is looking at purchasing the building and possibly get the center up and running again:
If the number of houses predicted to be built in the next few years happens, and more people move to town, the need for child care will only increase. As the city is already short, Bean says getting new child care centers open is a top priority.
