I don’t have to tell you that people are not happy with the skyrocketing property tax rates in Franklin County and actually, all across Kansas. Citizens of Ottawa showed up in force to the Ottawa City Commission public hearing on the revenue rate and proposed budget for next year. Many had the same message: they are not happy with what the city is doing with their tax money. Shawn Markley says the city continues to prop things up with tax dollars:
Markley called for commissioners to step up for the citizens when it comes to property taxes and put an end to the spending.
