The Miami County Sheriff’s office was busy with two separate incidents yesterday, October 8th. About 2:20 yesterday afternoon deputies stopped a vehicle for speeding on Highway 69 near 335 Street. During the stop, the deputy developed probable cause to believe illegal narcotics were present inside the vehicle. A second deputy responded to the scene for safety, and a search of the vehicle was conducted. The search led to the discovery of more than one pound of marijuana, more than 1.5 ounces of cocaine, and drug paraphernalia. The driver, 34-year-old Zachary Frizzell, of Greeley, Kansas, was arrested and booked into the Miami County Jail for two counts of distribution of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Just before 6:00 yesterday evening, deputies attempted to serve a felony aggravated assault warrant in the area of 271st Street and Woodland Road. The suspect retreated into her residence and barricading herself inside. Communication was established, and she stated she would not be exiting the home.
Deputies negotiated with her for approximately 45 minutes before she exited the residence voluntarily. Fifty-four year-old Elisa Storbeck, of Paola, was booked for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and felony interference with a law enforcement officer.
