Franklin County Emergency Management has been selected to receive a Hazard Mitigation Grant. County Emergency Management Director, Tom Winter, would like to use the money to upgrade the warning sirens from analog to LTE in the county so they can be tested and perform the way they are supposed to. He told commissioners about the benefit of the new system:
Winter says the City of Ottawa has already completed the upgrade and the grant would be used for the other sirens around the county. Commissioners approved the go ahead to complete the grant application.
