Kansas Chief Justice, Marla Luckert, had a minor car accident, which is believed to have been caused by a stroke. According to an announcement from the Kansas Supreme Court Wednesday, October 17th, Luckert was involved in a car crash on the evening of October 9th on her way home from work. Luckert said in the press release that she didn’t hit any other vehicle or hurt anyone.
Doctors believe she had a stroke, which caused the accident. Luckert was hospitalized through last weekend and will continue to be on medical leave at home. Luckert added it doesn’t appear she will need physical or speech therapy, but has been ordered to rest for at least the next few weeks. She thanked everyone for their concern and warm thoughts.
