The USD 290 Board Of Education was supposed to meet last night at the Ottawa High School Science wing to go over the issues the floor of the wing is having. However, they met at the board office due to Parent-Teacher conferences at OHS. The issue has to do with the floor and how it may be separating from the original building. It has been ongoing for well over a year now and the district is going through the court system to get the company that installed the floor to fix it.
In July of 2025, the school board approved hiring an engineer in Texas to come up and examine the situation. The science wing was part of a $63 million bond issue that voters passed.
