The Miami County Sheriff’s Department responded to a motorcycle accident yesterday morning, October 15th. Just after 8:00 a crash was reported on northbound 69 Highway at 223rd street. Once on scene first responders found a motorcycle lying in the roadway and the driver suffering from significant injuries. Several citizens were already on scene providing assistance prior to the arrival of first responders.

The Sheriff department’s preliminary investigation indicates that a 2016 black Indian Chief Dark Horse motorcycle experienced a tire malfunction, causing the motorcycle to crash and the driver to be ejected. The driver, a 46-year-old male, was transported to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.

The crash is being investigated by the Miami County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit.
