The Ottawa City Commission attended the League of Kansas Municipalities Conference this past weekend and one of Ottawa’s long time commissioners walked away with a big award. Commissioner Sara Caylor was presented with the E.A. Mosher Award of Excellence. The award recognizes outstanding service from an elected city official. Named after former league director E.A. Mosher, it honors leaders who contribute significantly to their community’s quality of life, promote positive intergovernmental relationships, and are actively involved with the league. It’s considered the leagues highest award.

Caylor says she is humbled and has had the privilege to work alongside some incredible individuals who share her unwavering belief in the limitless potential of Ottawa and the state of Kansas was elected to the Ottawa City Commission. Caylor has serve on the City Commission since 2011, with four terms as mayor and has been a board member for the League of Kansas Municipalities since 2010 and was elected president in 2020.
