If you are planning on hauling a lot of trash or other items to the Franklin County Transfer Station, plan ahead. The station will be closed for two days coming up later this month. Solid Waste Director, Peg Pearson, says the scale is in great need of repair. She says doing it now will only be about $5,400.
If the scales would blow out, the cost to replace them could be in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. Due to the scale repair, the transfer station will be closed October 27th and 28th.
