Proximity Park was sold to Lightfield Energy 10 months ago. The company said they were hopeful to break ground on their new data storage center by the end of 2025. Last year, the Kansas State Legislature passed a law that incentivizes large data centers but prohibits them from building their own power plants. Ottawa can’t supply the power needed to run the proposed data center.
