An injury accident in Miami County sends a man to the hospital with critical injuries. Yesterday afternoon, October 22nd, just after 4:00, Miami County Deputies responded to an injury accident on 247th Street west of State Line Road. Upon arrival, first responders located a vehicle off the roadway with significant damage.
Preliminary investigation indicates the vehicle was traveling eastbound on 247th Street approaching State Line Road, when it left the roadway on the left side, struck a driveway entrance, and became airborne. Upon landing, the vehicle struck a tree and rolled before coming to rest.
The driver, who was not identified, was transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. No word on his condition as of today. The roadway was closed for a period of time while the Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit conducted the on-scene investigation. The Sheriff’s office thanks the citizens who stopped to help the injured driver prior to the arrival of emergency personnel.
This crash remains under investigation.
