The flags that line main street the weeks before and after Veterans Day are a symbol of the freedoms we enjoy, because of those who serve in our military. You might notice that this year, the flags don’t extend quite so far down the street. Last year the trailer that stores the flags, was stolen from the VFW parking lot. The flags were recovered, dumped in a field in Douglas County, and many were damaged beyond repair. They are looking for help to replace those flags and the trailer. Franklin County Honors Representative, Buck Bradley:

If you would like to donate to the flag replacement effort, contact Franklin County Honors on their facebook page or give us a call at KOFO and we will put you in touch with the correct people.

The annual Veterans Days parade is this morning at 10:45 in Downtown Ottawa. A ceremony takes place before the parade at 10:30 at the War Memorial at 4th and Main.
