The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department was involved in a vehicle chase last week, resulting in the man they were chasing getting away. Deputies attempted a traffic stop in the 4600 block of K-33 Highway in Wellsville, on a vehicle driven by 33-year-old Dalton Farrar, of Wellsville. He failed to yield and fled at a high rate of speed and a pursuit was initiated. T that pursuit was terminated a short time later when deputies realized there was a small child in the vehicle. Dalton was followed to an address on Thomas Road where he abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot, leaving the small child in the vehicle. After a search of the area, Dalton was not located. The investigation is ongoing.
At the time of this writing, it’s not known if Farrar was eventually found and taken into custody.
