How many deer have you seen laying along the road the past couple weeks? If you drive every day, probably dozens. They are everywhere you drive right now. Last Thursday was supposed to be the peak day for car deer crashes, and Franklin County had six of those, and that was just what was reported. However, there is a second peak, and that day, is today, November 18th. We are in no way out of danger yet… and, it doesn’t matter what time of the day it is . Franklin County Sheriff Jeff Richards:

There will still be a lot of crashes the rest of this month and beyond. In October, Franklin County saw 34 car vs deer crashes; so far in November…35, and we are only halfway through the month. Some other tips…slow down at sunrise and sunset…scan the ditches and fence lines…give yourself extra space from the car in front of you…stay alert in town and near busy areas… and if you see one deer, expect more!
