The City of Ottawa has some pretty good streets. But, if you drive around for a while, you soon find that there are some streets that are, shall we say, in need of some work. Some of those streets are bad enough that Ottawa residents are starting to complain to the Ottawa City Commission. At this week’s meeting, Diedre Altic,, who lives on East 9th, addressed the commission regarding brick streets in her neighborhood, specifically South Oak, Sycamore, Mulberry and Cherry:
That survey in May indicated that about 15% of Ottawa streets needed complete reconstruction. The study did not include brick streets, but it was acknowledged that most of the brick streets in town in in need of major repair.
