Monday, November 17th, is National Hiking Day! A day where people are encouraged to take advantage of the states trails. The Kansas Wildlife and Parks Department is hosting two Ranger Hikes, the first on Monday at Pomona State Park. Want to go? All you have to do is meet at 5:00 that afternoon at the park office. The rangers will guide people on a one mile hike. You might want to bring a flashlight, because you will return to the office shortly after dark. At the hike, The Friends of Pomona State Park will host a food drive. You are welcome to bring a non perishable food item that will be used to help stock the food pantry at the Osage County Hope House.

Come join them and take advantage of a chance to explore the trails at Pomona State Park. You’ll learn about the area’s history, plants and wildlife.
