Larry Edward Cann, 84, of Pomona, Kansas died Monday, December 1, 2025 at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville, Arkansas.
He was born March 10, 1941 in Topeka, Kansas the son of William John Cann and Georgia (York) Cann.
On July 27, 1968, Larry was united in marriage to Patsy June Houston in Topeka, Kansas.
Larry proudly served his nation in the United States Army from 1959 – 1965. He served in both South Korea and Germany and earned the rank of Sergeant. He was awarded the title of Marksman with an M-1 Rifle, Sharpshooter with a Rifle, a Good Conduct Medal, and a Motor Vehicle Drivers badge. Larry then worked as a truck driver for the Army Air Force Exchange Service until his retirement in 2003.
Larry loved cinema, especially western movies. He enjoyed the simpler things in life, like maintaining their pond, caring for their dog Sweetie, cappuccinos from Casey’s, and crossword puzzles. He was an open-road adventurer and liked to just get in his vehicle and drive. Larry was a member of the Topeka First United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Georgia Cann; a daughter, Desarae Dawn (Cann) Shibler; a granddaughter, Mia Isabella Robison; and three brothers, James “Jim” Cann, William “Billy” Cann Jr, and Frank Green.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy Cann; a daughter, Janalee Robison and her husband, Edward Robison, of Eureka Springs, AR; ten grandchildren, Eva Robison, Edward Shibler, Alex Shibler, Daniel Shibler, Anastasia Shibler, Zachary Shibler, Stephany Shibler, Isaac Shibler, John Shibler, and Nicholas Shibler; and three sisters, Johnna Mae Young of Tacoma, WA, Gladys O’Handlen, of Wingo, Kentucky, and Kathy Gragg of Omaha, NE.
Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 15, 2025 at Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, 325 S. Hickory St, Ottawa, KS 66067.
