A Louisburg teen, 19-year-old Sammie McGee is doing what she can to take some of the heaviness off Airen’s brothers and sister as they and their parents grieve Airen’s loss. Sammie started Sammie’s Toy Drive four years ago to support parents and survivors of the Uvalde, Texas school shooting. The first toy drive was her way of handling the sadness that overwhelmed her. Sammie on what he mission means:

The goal is to give the kids some positivity. Toys, toiletries, snack items and gift cards will make the trip with Sammie as she attends Airen’s celebration of life today in Pleasanton, where she plans to meet up with his parents and siblings. If you’d like to contribute, you can find the wish list on Sammiestoydrive.com.
