Franklin County has received a massive federal grant that when coupled with the Kansas state match, comes to over $800,000. It’s a Safe Road Grant. Franklin County Development Council Director Paul Bean broke the news to county commissioners.
One hundred twenty-three thousand is earmarked for projects in Wellsville, $207,000 plus, for the City of Ottawa, and the rest for projects out in the county. Bean added that there may be money available to hire someone to manage the grant also.
