WAVERLY — A 35-year-old Reading man was taken to the Kansas University Medical Center Saturday afternoon after his pickup hit a tree along I-35 in Osage County west of Waverly. The kansas Highway Patrol said Anthony Guzman was being pursued by police and going north on I-35 when he lost control of his pickup. The truck slid off the road into a ditch and hit the tree. Troopers said he was wearing a seat belt.
