SHAWNEE- An Ottawa man lost his life while working as a trash collector yesterday. Gary Anderson, 61, was a trash collector for Deffenbaugh who was on the job yesterday in Shawnee. The Kansas City Star reports Anderson was preparing to pick up a load when his unoccupied truck rolled over him, taking his life. Occupational Safety and Health Administration officials say they’re going to investigate. Anderson worked for Deffenbaugh for nearly three years.
