PAOLA – A former Miami County jailer has pleaded not guilty to allegations that he mistreated prisoners. Dennis Roberts, Wellsville, was arrested last month by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation and was been charged with two counts of battery and two counts of mistreatment of a confined prisoner. The Miami County Republic reports he is free on $2,500 bond. His next hearing in Miami County District Court April 3.
