OTTAWA – A memorial service for a former Ottawa mayor and business owner will be Saturday morning. Allen Loyd, Jr., 88, died April 2. Loyd worked for construction companies before starting his own company, now called Loyd Builders. He served four years as an Ottawa city commissioner and as mayor. He was also president of the Ottawa Chamber of Commerce and Ottawa Industrial Development. Loyd was also on the board of Ottawa UniversityCOF and the Ottawa Library board. He was issued Ottawa’s Library card Number 1. The memorial will be saturday at 10:30 at Grace Community Fellowship.
