PAOLA — If you want to fight Paola City Hall, you’ll find the ring has changed. Because of a renovation project at the century-old city hall building at 19 E. Peoria St., city employees have moved city offices down the street to a temporary office owned by Great Southern Bank at 10 W. Peoria St. The Miami County Republic reported the work will cost about $950,000. The Paola City Council recently issued nearly $2.1 million in bonds for the city hall project and to renovate the Paola Free Library. The paper said plans for the library renovation are still being worked on. Work on the city hall project will continue through next February.
