KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Grinter Place State Historic Site will offer a summer reading program for children 2 to 6 years old on Thursday mornings at 10 beginning next Thursday. The hour-long sessions will explore books related to themes such as pioneer life, native people, and cultural traditions. Sessions include story time, themed craft projects, and programs that encourage movement. Admission is $1 per week. Children must be accompanied by an adult. All sessions will take place on the back porch. Grinter Place is located on 78th Street next to K-32 in Kansas City, Kan., next to the Kansas River.
