TOPEKA- The numbers are in, and for the month of May, Franklin County’s unemployment rate sits at 7.5 percent, or about 994 people jobless. From April to May, Franklin County has seen a tenth of a percent drop from 7.6, and in one year’s time, a drop from 7.9 percent. The statewide rate checks in at 5.8 percent.
