PAOLA — The Miami County Commission is looking at a ban against the dumping raw sewage onto farm ground in the county. The Miami County Republic reported that commissioners asked county staff to immediately stop a Gardner septic service company from dumping sewage on land near Hillsdale Lake in the northwestern corner of the county. They also asked staff to research whether the practice should be allowed at all. Johnson County forbids it. Franklin County allows dumping only if the septic company owns the property.
