OTTAWA — Although the city commission has proposed a decrease in the city property tax mill levy for next year, the commission will have to approve a resolution that the city will receive more tax revenue despite the tax cut. Because the city’s valuation has increased, each mill will raise more money, which is why the city will see an increase in tax revenues. The action is routine but required by state law, city manager Richard Nienstedt. The resoluton is part of tonight’s public hearing on the budget and regular city meeting tonight at 7 at city hall. The meeting will be broadcast live on KOFO 1220 Country, as well as videostreamed on KOFO’s Web site as well as Government Access Cable Channel 20.
