PAOLA – The Paola City Council recently honored Paola police officer Adam Hale who saved a 22-year-old Osawatomie man. The Miami County Republic reported Daniel Jackson went into cardiac arrest May 17 when the ladder he was moving struck an overhead power line in Paola. When Hale arrived, he found a neighbor doing CPR on Jackson. Hale grabbed a portable defibrillator and used it on ackson and did CPR on him until Miami County EMS arrived. Jackson was taken by helicopter to the University of Kansas Hospital, where he was treated. Two years ago, Hale used CPR and a defibrillator to help revive an elderly woman having a heart attack.
