WELLSVILLE — The city of Wellsville is advising its residents and customers of some rural water districts to boil water. The city said the advisory will last at least until noon Friday, pending the results of lab tests in Topeka. A Kansas City Power & Light electrical transformer that serves the city water pump house blew Tuesday night, the city said. Before repairs were completed, the water pressure in the city’s system fell below the safety minimum required by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, prompting the advisory. The city sells water to some neighboring rural water districts and the advisory included rural customers. The city water superintendent collected water samples this morning and took them to a KDHE lab in Topeka.
