OSAWATOMIE – At least 22 cars in a Union Pacific train derailed near 347th Street and Lookout Road southeast of Osawatomie early this morning.  One local witness said the number may be closer to 35 cars.  The Miami County Sheriff’s office said three of the cars landed in the Marais des Cygnes River.  Aerial photos by KMBC Channel 9 shows a fourth car hanging from the bridge over the river.  The bridge over the river was also damaged.  The sheriff’s office said no injuries were reported.  No roads are blocked.  Union Pacific investigators are on the scene, the sheriff’s office said.  KMBC Channel 9 reported that the train was carrying wheat.  Cleanup was under way at the site.
