OTTAWA – A fire destroyed a house at 11 SW Hillside Rd., southwest of Ottawa, Wednesday afternoon. A passerby reported the fire and firefighters found smoke coming from the roof when they arrived, according to initial reports. Firefighters from several rural volunteer departments responded. Ottawa Fire Department also sent two trucks to the fire. No one was home when the fire occurred and no injuries were reported from the fire. Bertie Wilson, 56, the owner of the house, told the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department that the house was valued at $350,000. The cause of the fire hasn’t been determined, the sheriff’s office said.
