OSAWATOMIE — A short film made in Osawatomie two years ago has earned two regional Emmys. Sharon Wright’s 10-minute movie “Change For a Dollar,” won for writing and in the “Interstitial,” or miscellaneous category. Wright had difficulty in getting the movie shown at independent film festivals until it went viral after it was posted on YouTube. The movie depicts the spreading impact of a small act of kindness. More than 2.1 million people have viewed it on YouTube. Wright is a former Osawatomie resident and filmed the movie over one day in Osawatomie.
