WASHINGTON — Two Kansas members of Congress have been elected to top Republican party posts. U.S. Sen. Jerry Moran was elected as chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee. 2nd District U.S. Rep. Lynn Jenkins was elected as vice chair of the House Republican Conference. Moran will be responsible for recruiting GOP Senate candidates and help raise funds for them. As a member of the House Republican Conference, Jenkins will help coordinate Republican communication strategy.
