OTTAWA — Ottawa University has announced a new on-line program that will those people who are registered nurses to upgrade their educations to earn their bachelor of science degrees in nursing. The series of on-line classes begins in the spring 2013 semester. The program can be completed in as little as 18 months and offers coursework that will help students enhance their professional skills and prepare them for nursing leadership, said Kathy Kump, OU director of nursing. Kathy Kump. Students will study topics related to health care policy and ethical practice, health care communication and promotion, and nursing leadership and management. The courses are just 8 weeks in length and no traditional clinicals are required, she said.
