GARNETT — Garnett business owner Gordon Blackie will be sworn in as Garnett’s newest city commissioner tonight. Because of Christmas, the Garnett City Commission meeting was delayed one day to tonight at 6. Commissioners Greg Gwin and Preston Peine interviewed seven applicants to fill the remaining term of former ethanol plant employee Dan Morgan, who moved to another state after the plant shut down. Blackie, the owner of Lighthouse Electric, will serve a little more than a year. Blackie is also member of Mission-Aire, a missionary group that flies supplies and missionaries in Central and South America.
