GARNETT — A local group that includes all of Anderson County’s health agencies have their resolution for this year – help make Anderson County “the healthiest county in Kansas.” The Anderson County Review reported the group’s efforts is getting noticed across the state. Anderson County Hospital’s Karen Wood told the Review that this year’s resolution got a start two years ago after the hospital did a community wellness assessment. A health expert from the University of Michigan reviewed the results and told county health officials that Anderson County already had the resources to be very healthy but just needed to put it all together. The group has tried to coordinate efforts with other groups including the city of Garnett and Anderson County, she said. The group also has a new Web site to help coordinate the effort at www.goandersoncounty.com.
