SENECA, Mo. — A missing 6-year-old southwest Missouri boy survived after his two dogs kept him warm Friday night. The Joplin, Mo., Globe reported authorities in Seneca, Mo., launched a massive search after Ryle Smith disappeared into woods behind his parents’ home Friday evening. The globe said the boy followed his dogs into the woods and got lost in the dark. Rescuers found him huddled in a ditch with his two dogs lying on top of him to keep him warm. Ryle was taken to a Joplin hospital and was checked over. He didn’t have any injuries.
